Tenancy Support Worker – Wakefield

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Pay: £14.00 PAYE / £18.04 Umbrella per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (37.5 hours per week)

Contract: Temporary, 3–4 months

About the Role

Oscar Underhill Recruitment is looking for an experienced Tenancy Support Worker to join an established housing support service covering the Wakefield district.

You will be supporting vulnerable adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them sustain their tenancies, develop independent living skills and maintain suitable accommodation.

This is a community-based role where you will manage your own caseload and travel to visit clients across Wakefield.

Key Responsibilities

• Support adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• Help clients maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.
• Support individuals with budgeting, independent living skills and accessing local services.
• Manage your own caseload, completing support plans and maintaining accurate records.
• Work alongside housing providers and other support agencies.

Essential

Requirements

• Recent experience in housing support, homelessness or tenancy sustainment.
• Enhanced DBS certificate – essential.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle – essential.
• Experience managing your own caseload and supporting vulnerable adults.
• Good understanding of housing-related support and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and commit to the assignment.

Additional Information

• Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
• No weekends or bank holiday working.
• Business mileage paid at the standard HMRC rate, subject to appropriate business-use insurance.
• Immediate availability or a short notice period would be advantageous.
