Customs and trade compliance consultant
Clinical Role Overview
We’re looking to connect with experienced customs and trade compliance professionals interested in joining our growing network. This opportunity is particularly relevant to people who work hands-on with customs classification, tariffs, import and export requirements, sanctions, trade regulations, or customs compliance and would be interested in contributing their expertise to future projects, research, and product-related initiatives.
What you could work on
Depending on your background and availability, consulting opportunities could include:
- customs and tariff classification;
- trade compliance and regulatory research;
- import and export requirements;
- sanctions and export controls;
- reviewing customs-related information and workflows;
- testing and evaluating specialist digital tools;
- contributing practical industry knowledge to research and product development;
- helping translate complex customs requirements into useful guidance for businesses.
Projects will vary, so we’re interested in professionals with both specialist and broader customs experience.
Who we’d like to hear from
You might currently work as a:
- customs consultant;
- customs manager;
- trade compliance manager;
- customs compliance specialist;
- tariff or HS classification specialist;
- customs adviser;
- import/export specialist;
- customs broker or declarant;
- independent trade consultant.
We’re particularly interested in people who regularly work with customs regulations, tariff databases, classification decisions, sanctions requirements or other official trade sources.
Experience within manufacturing, logistics and forwarding, trade consultancy, FMCG, food and beverage, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics, machinery, automotive or renewable energy industries would also be relevant.
What we’re looking for
You should be comfortable working independently and applying customs knowledge to real commercial situations. You don’t need to be looking for a career change. This could suit an experienced professional who wants to take on selected consulting projects alongside their existing work, depending on availability and potential conflicts of interest. We value practical expertise, strong judgement and an ability to explain why a customs or compliance decision is defensible rather than simply providing an answer.
About the opportunity
We’re currently expanding our network of customs and trade professionals and assessing interest in future consulting opportunities.
Engagements may vary by project, subject area and market. More information about individual assignments, scope and commercial terms would be discussed directly with suitable applicants.
