Service Manager

Jackson Hogg are supporting our client with with the appointment of a Service Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

This is a key role in a busy, safety-critical engineering business.

This role would suit someone who understands lifting equipment, can make practical decisions quickly and is comfortable dealing with engineers, customers, suppliers and office staff throughout the day.

This isn't just a behind-the-desk role -

you will be involved in technical decisions, commercial decisions and operational problem-solving!

This is also an exciting opportunity to be involved in actively modernising processes and continuous improvement and the right person woud be involved in shaping how this supports a real engineering business.

Job Description

• Planning and prioritising crane, hoist, lifting gear and site service work.
• Coordinating engineer workloads across inspections, repairs, breakdowns, testing and follow-up visits.
• Making sure jobs have the right scope, site details, customer contacts, report types, RAMS and job cards before engineers attend.
• Reviewing engineer findings from service reports, LOLER inspections and repair sheets.
• Understanding defects on cranes, hoists, lifting gear, slings, shackles, beams and related equipment.
• Turning engineer repair sheets and inspection findings into clear, accurate repair quotations
• Requesting prices from suppliers for OEM and specialist parts.
