The Opportunity

We are looking for an experiencedSenior Testing & Validation Lead to take ownership of automation and control system validation on a major 60MW gas generation plant project in Dublin .

This is a senior, technically focused role requiring someone who can combine hands‑on testing and commissioning expertise with strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will act as a key technical interface between the client, commissioning management, software developers, OEMs and engineering teams, ensuring that complex automation systems are thoroughly tested, validated and ready for safe operation.

We're looking for someone who can confidently lead technical discussions, challenge testing outcomes, resolve complex issues and communicate effectively with senior project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Testing, Commissioning & Validation

• Lead the development and execution of the automation testing and validation strategy.
• Review control philosophies, functional design specifications, Sequence of Operations (SoO) and cause-and-effect matrices.
• Develop comprehensive testing procedures, validation scripts and traceability documentation.
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and integrated plant testing.
• Validate PLC automation logic, control sequences, permissives, interlocks, alarms, trips and fail-safe functionality.
• Verify system interfaces across generators, MV switchgear, protection relays, instrumentation and SCADA systems.

Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a senior technical point of contact for the client and wider project delivery team.
• Coordinate testing activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, OEMs and specialist contractors.
• Lead technical discussions, testing reviews and defect resolution meetings.
