Shift pattern: On call rota 1:8 ( Mon-thurs and then Fri -Sun)

Job Summary

We are recruiting a locum Consultant Cardiologist to support cardiology services, delivering consultant-led care across outpatient, inpatient and acute settings within an established multidisciplinary team.

You will assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, supporting service continuity and high clinical standards. About You

You are a GMC-registered Consultant Cardiologist with UK experience, confident working autonomously, managing complex cardiac cases and delivering high-quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver consultant-led cardiology care across outpatient, inpatient and acute settings

Assess, diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions in line with local and national guidelines

Perform and interpret cardiology investigations within agreed competencies

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, coordinated patient care

Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with GMC and organisational standards

Essential Skills and Experience

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise

Previous experience working as a Consultant Cardiologist within UK cardiology services

Strong knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and evidence-based practice

Excellent communication and decision-making skills

Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a locum environment

UK right to work

Desirable Skills and Experience

Subspecialty interest such as heart failure, cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology or electrophysiology

Previous NHS locum experience

Experience supporting service pressures or short-term service cover
