Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents/service users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting.

• Support residents/service users with mobility and daily activities.

• Assist with meals, hydration and general wellbeing.

• Observe and report any changes in a resident’s health or condition to the nursing team.

• Maintain dignity, privacy, independence and respect at all times.

• Follow infection prevention, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.

• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable care environment.

• Work effectively as part of the nursing and healthcare team.

• Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.

Essential Requirements:

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Must hold a valid visa/permission to work legally in Ireland.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Caring, compassionate and patient approach.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends where required
