Rough Sleep Support Worker

Lynx Employment Services is recruiting for an experienced Rough Sleep Support Worker to join North Northamptonshire Council’s Rough Sleeping Service.

This is a hands-on role supporting people who are rough sleeping or at risk of repeat homelessness. You will carry out street outreach, build positive relationships with vulnerable individuals and help them access accommodation and the support services they need.

### The role

You will:

Carry out street outreach across North Northamptonshire

Engage with and provide intensive support to rough sleepers

Complete risk assessments, needs assessments and individual support plans

Provide crisis intervention where required

Support individuals with housing, benefits, budgeting, health, mental health and substance misuse needs

Work closely with Housing, Adult Social Care, health services and other partner agencies

Help individuals develop the skills needed to maintain accommodation and independent living

Maintain accurate case notes and records

Attend multi-agency meetings and advocate for vulnerable individuals

### What we're looking for

You will need previous experience within housing, homelessness, outreach, supported housing or a care/support role working with vulnerable people. Experience of assessment, key working, providing support and advocacy is essential.

You must also have:

Enhanced DBS

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Strong understanding of homelessness and rough sleeping

Ability to work with vulnerable people and manage challenging situations

Excellent communication and record-keeping skills

Flexibility to undertake street outreach outside normal office hours

Location: Northampton / North Northamptonshire

Rate: £25.32 per hour PAYE

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: 28 September – 28 December 2026 initially

Working arrangement: On-site, 5 days per week
