Consultant Psychiatrist

An outstanding part-time opportunity has opened through Evolve Staffing Ltd. for a Consultant Psychiatrist to support adult mental health services in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Working a structured 3-day weekly pattern from Tuesday through Thursday, this long-term post provides an ideal work-life balance while delivering senior psychiatric expertise to outpatient services and community care teams. The post holder will manage a defined patient caseload, providing diagnostic clarity, medication optimization, and risk management for adults experiencing complex mental health conditions across the Aylesbury.

Core Clinical Responsibilities:

Deliver expert psychiatric care across three consecutive working days (Tuesday to Thursday), conducting planned outpatient clinics and urgent clinical reviews.

*

Formulate individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological, psychological, and social interventions for patients with complex psychiatric needs.

*

Fulfill statutory responsibilities as an Approved Clinician (AC) and Section 12(2) doctor for Mental Health Act assessments, renewals, and tribunal reports.

*

Collaborate with community mental health staff, crisis resolution teams, and primary care general practitioners (GPs) to ensure smooth care coordination.

*

Conduct physical health monitoring associated with long-term psychotropic treatments, including depot antipsychotics and mood stabilizers.

*

Maintain comprehensive, timely clinical documentation on the NHS trust's electronic patient record system.

Essential Candidate Criteria:

Full GMC Registration with an active Licence to Practise.

*

Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in General Adult Psychiatry.

*

MRCPsych qualification or recognized equivalent.

*

Current Approved Clinician (AC) status and Section 12(2) accreditation under the Mental Health Act 1983.

*

Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality psychiatric care within a part-time, structured NHS clinical setting.

• End Date: 2nd May 2027 (High potential for contract extension)

• Shift Timings: 09:00 to 17:00 (3 Days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
