Registered General Nurse (RGN)

Dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse with experience providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care in a range of clinical settings. Responsible for assessing patients’ needs, planning and delivering appropriate care, administering medications safely, monitoring patients’ conditions, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients with a range of medical and clinical needs.

Conducting patient assessments and developing, implementing and reviewing individualised care plans.

Administering medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed instructions and professional standards.

*

Monitoring and recording patients’ vital signs, symptoms and changes in condition, escalating concerns appropriately.

*

Working collaboratively with doctors, healthcare assistants, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Supporting patients and their families by providing clear information, reassurance and emotional support.

*

Maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date patient records.

*

Following infection prevention and control procedures, safeguarding requirements, health and safety policies and relevant clinical guidelines.

*

Responding appropriately to emergencies and changes in patients’ conditions.

*

Supporting junior staff, students and colleagues where appropriate.

*

Promoting dignity, independence, equality and patient choice at all times.

*

Participating in audits, clinical governance and continuous professional development to maintain high standards of care
