The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete the work provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in secondary schools.

Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students understand the work set.

Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Encouraging students to remain focused, engaged and motivated.

Supporting students with their learning and answering general questions where appropriate.

Following school policies and procedures, including behaviour management and safeguarding.

Building positive professional relationships with students and school staff.

Managing classroom routines and ensuring lessons run smoothly.

Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour and completed work.

Supporting students with additional learning needs where required.

Adapting confidently to different classrooms, subjects and school environments.You will not be expected to plan or prepare lessons, as work will already be provided by the school.
