Complex Needs Education Support Worker

Some young people need additional help with everyday activities before they can fully engage in education.

Whether that's support with communication, mobility, personal care or managing the school environment, having the right person alongside them can make a significant difference.

We're looking for a Complex Needs Education Support Worker to join a specialist setting in Saltash as soon as possible.

You'll support children and young people with additional learning, physical and care needs, helping them access education in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll:

• Provide individualised support to pupils with complex SEND.
• Assist with personal care and physical needs where required.
• Support pupils with PMLD, autism, learning disabilities and communication difficulties.
• Help pupils access adapted learning activities.
• Encourage communication using appropriate methods and resources.
• Assist with movement, positioning and mobility in line with training.
• Support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Follow individual care plans and EHCPs.
• Promote dignity, independence and positive relationships.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals.

Appropriate training and guidance will be provided for specialist care tasks.

You don't necessarily need previous school experience.

If you've worked in healthcare, adult social care, children's services, residential care, disability support or SEND, your experience could transfer well into this role.

We're looking for someone who understands the importance of patience, dignity, safeguarding and consistent support.

You'll need to be comfortable providing practical care, responding to individual needs and working collaboratively with other professionals.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
