Transport Planner – Evening/Night Shift

£29,500 starting salary, increasing to £30,562 after probation | Tonbridge, Kent | Permanent

Full-time: Monday–Friday, 5:30pm–1:30am

Part-time: Monday–Friday, 5:30pm–9:30pm

Have you worked in transport planning, delivery scheduling or dispatch? Do you enjoy solving problems, coordinating drivers and making sure deliveries run to plan?

PVC Building Supplies Ltd is looking for a Transport Planner to join its busy Operations team in Tonbridge.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the challenges of delivery operations and can keep things moving, even when plans change at the last minute.

The role

As our Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for planning and adjusting delivery routes using MaxOptra software, working closely with drivers and the wider operations team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and optimising delivery routes to improve efficiency
• Coordinating with drivers and dispatch teams
• Responding to delays, route changes and unexpected delivery issues
• Updating routing systems and maintaining accurate records
• Monitoring delivery performance and identifying improvements
• Supporting warehouse operations, including occasional picking, packing and van loading

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

• Previous experience in transport planning, delivery scheduling, dispatch or a similar logistics role
• Experience coordinating deliveries or working with drivers
• Good IT skills and confidence using planning systems
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure
• A practical, team-focused attitude

Experience using MaxOptra or similar route-planning software would be a bonus.

Important:

This is an on-site position in Tonbridge. Please ensure you can reliably commute to and from work during the advertised late-shift hours.
