About Tate

At Tate we are passionate about everything we do. As an independent brand operating within Kingspan Group, a global plc, Tate has been recognised worldwide as an industry leader in the development and manufacture of data centre infrastructure solutions and commercial office raised access floors for over 60 years. Tate plays a pivotal role in offering expertise in cutting edge design engineering, working collaboratively with clients as a trusted partner.

About the Role

As a Process Engineer within the Engineering CoE team, you will drive the operational efficiency, standardization, and continuous improvement of our engineering-to-manufacturing value streams. Working directly under the local Engineering CoE Lead, you will bridge the gaps between initial product design and shop-floor execution. You will establish and optimize engineering process maps, govern standard operating procedures (SOPs), and champion Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles. Your work will ensure that our engineering efforts translate seamlessly into accurate, repeatable, and high-quality products. With all activities aligned to our global CoE strategy, and in collaboration with CoE teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the CoE Lead, drive the development, documentation, and optimization of end-to-end engineering process maps, value streams, and workflow governance models.
  • Facilitate, author, and oversee the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical document controls.
  • Assure the accuracy and consistency of engineering documentation, bill of materials (BOM) release processes, and purchased parts specifications during product transitions.
  • Drive productivity and automation initiatives by identifying manual process inefficiencies and helping translate operational workflows into more automated or AI-enabled ones.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders—including Manufacturing, Procurement, and Project Management—to identify bottlenecks, capture shop-floor feedback, and feed lessons learned back into our design process.
  • Embed Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles into our standard engineering templates, SOPs, processes and design guidelines in partnership with the CoE teams.
  • Assist in organizing and executing internal engineering process audits to ensure adherence to approved workflows and quality standards.
  • Assist the Data Analysts with data collection to facilitate development of Power BI dashboards for tracking team performance and engineering metrics.

Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience of 3 to 5 years in a process engineering, manufacturing excellence, or operational workflow role within an industrial or technical environment.
  • Experience working within critical or complex engineering environments is highly advantageous (e.g. data centre, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor, power generation, oil & gas or construction industry).
  • High organizational and analytical aptitude to spot procedural deviations and design robust, repeatable workflows & experience creating and implementing engineering SOPs.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma), and value stream mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent).
  • Track record of driving awareness and adherence to standards, SOPs and product/process compliance.
  • Solid working knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials, tolerance analysis, and quality control protocols with a core focus on DFMA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to train teams, write clear technical documentation, and build transparent relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of CAD/PDM/PLM structures and how engineering change orders impact downstream manufacturing workflows.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package on offer.
