Principal Clinical Psychologist

In this role you will provide clinical leadership within the Community Adult Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), supervise psychological therapies staff, and contribute to service development. You will work across North CMHTs, collaborating with other Principal Psychologists and the Adult Mental Health Psychology Lead to embed community psychology ideas and improve care for adults with complex mental health needs. The position combines direct clinical work with line management and strategic planning to shape local mental health services. This is a chance to drive innovation, support MDT functioning, and expand community-based approaches.

• supervise and line-manage psychological therapies staff in CMHTs
• carry out high-quality clinical work with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties (e.g., trauma, psychosis)
• provide leadership in service development and innovative practice
• contribute to the service vision alongside other Principal Psychologists and stakeholders
• embed Community Psychology principles and collaborate with local communities
• work with the Adult Mental Health Psychology Lead to coordinate across North and South CMHTs

• clinical psychology doctorate or equivalent
• 4+ years post-qualification experience in therapy with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties
• supervisor training and supervisory experience
• experience of line management
• UK professional registration
• interest in Community Psychology
• desirable: AMH/CMHT experience, trauma-focused work with psychosis, HR processes knowledge
