Senior Staff Nurse

• Lead the nursing shift as Nurse in Charge, coordinating staff, prioritising patient care and delegating duties to ensure the ward remains safe and well managed.
• Complete nursing assessments and develop, implement and regularly review individualised care plans, ensuring patients physical and mental health needs, preferences and wishes are met.
• Supervise and support junior, agency and newly appointed colleagues, providing clinical guidance, supporting inductions and helping staff manage challenging behaviour and de-escalation.
• Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, families and external professionals to monitor patient progress, address concerns and promote positive outcomes.
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance, including accurate patient records, incident reporting, medicines management, safeguarding and compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and Priory policies.
