Support Worker

As a Children's Support Worker, you'll provide safe, consistent and individualised support to children and young people across a variety of settings.

You'll work as part of a dedicated team, building positive relationships and helping young people develop confidence, emotional regulation, independence and essential life skills.

Our young people may have experienced trauma, disrupted relationships, exploitation or significant challenges with their emotional and behavioural needs. Your role is to provide stability, understanding and clear, consistent boundaries while supporting their individual needs.

No two days will be the same, but every day will be an opportunity to make a difference.

Your Key Responsibilities

Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people through consistency, empathy and respect.

Provide individualised support that promotes safety, emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes.

Support young people experiencing emotional distress or crisis using trauma-informed approaches and appropriate de-escalation strategies.

Encourage independence and the development of practical life skills, including cooking, budgeting, personal routines and community participation.

Support engagement in education, training, recreational activities and positive experiences.

Promote healthy relationships, positive communication and appropriate boundaries.

Recognise safeguarding concerns and respond in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers and other professionals.

Maintain accurate records, support plans and relevant documentation.

Contribute to a positive team culture through effective communication, reflective practice and professional accountability.
