This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper with payroll knowledge who is looking for a long-term position within a genuinely friendly, down-to-earth and hardworking team.

There is excellent longevity within the team, a supportive working environment and plenty of opportunity to develop your skills, take on more responsibility and progress your career.

The Role

Working as part of a close-knit finance team, you will enjoy a varied role covering bookkeeping, payroll and wider financial administration. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, develop your technical knowledge and become a valued member of the team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records

  • Processing invoices, supplier payments and bank reconciliations

  • Assisting with month-end processes, VAT returns and HMRC reporting

  • Supporting payroll processes, including PAYE, pensions, starters, leavers and salary adjustments

  • Liaising with colleagues and external contacts on financial matters

  • Maintaining accurate records and handling confidential financial information

  • Supporting improvements to systems and processes

  • Getting involved in wider finance projects as required

About You

We are looking for someone with solid bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within a Family Office, accountancy practice or professional services environment.

You will bring:

  • Several years' experience in bookkeeping and financial administration

  • Some practical payroll knowledge, with an interest in developing this further

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software

  • Experience with Xero, Sage, IRIS or Sage Payroll would be advantageous

  • Excellent attention to detail and a well-organised, methodical approach

  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved

  • A discreet, professional manner and strong communication skills

AAT or CIPP qualifications would be welcomed but are not essential. Practical experience, a great attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important.

Working Hours & Flexibility

The Family Office offers a genuinely flexible approach to working hours, with the option to work full-time or reduced hours to suit individual circumstances.

  • Four or five days per week, with a minimum of 30 hours

  • Flexible start and finish times

  • One day working from home per week

  • Salary pro rata for reduced hours

The emphasis is on finding the right person and agreeing a working arrangement that works for everyone.

Why Join?

One of the real attractions of this opportunity is the team itself. Friendly, approachable and hardworking, with excellent staff retention and a genuinely supportive working environment.

This is somewhere you can settle, feel part of the team and build a long-term career, with plenty of opportunity to learn, develop and take on additional responsibility as your experience grows.

The Package

  • £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience (full-time equivalent)

  • Flexible working arrangements, including one day WFH

  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata where applicable)

  • Generous company pension contributions

  • Private healthcare after six months

  • Excellent opportunities for long-term development and progression

A really appealing opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper who enjoys being part of a close-knit team, takes pride in their work and is looking for a position offering stability, flexibility and genuine scope to grow.
