- Support the day-to-day running of an onsite nurse-led treatment centre, assessing and treating workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct pre-placement health assessments, safety-critical medicals and fitness-for-work screening.
- Carry out health surveillance, including skin, hand-arm vibration (HAVS), lung function and noise-related assessments.
- Undertake clinical screening, including spirometry, audiometry, drug and alcohol testing, and night worker assessments.
- Work closely with the Nurse Manager, Occupational Health Physician and Occupational Hygienist to support effective occupational health provision.
- Contribute to site-wide wellbeing programmes, delivering health campaigns, toolbox talks, presentations and educational materials.
- Provide lifestyle screening, personalised health advice and appropriate follow-up care.
- Manage clinical administration, appointments, medical records, screening documentation and employee enquiries.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Adult Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
- Previous Occupational Health experience is desirable.
- First Person On Scene (FPOS) or First Response Emergency Care (FREC) training.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and defibrillator training.
- Ability to work autonomously and confidently as a lone worker.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Pre-hospital nursing or emergency response experience.
- Experience working within the construction industry.
- ECG interpretation.
- Experience using Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
- IV cannulation and suturing skills.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) and trauma training.
