Clinical Role Overview

WAKING NIGHT RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER – BRAND-NEW CHILDREN’S HOME

Average 35 Hours Per Week | Waking Night Shifts | Small 2-Bed Home

PREFER NIGHTS? THIS COULD BE A CRACKING ROLE.

We’re opening a brand-new, two-bed children’s home near Spalding and we’re looking for Waking Night Residential Support Workers to join the team.

This is a small, focused home supporting a maximum of two young people, so you won’t be working in a huge service with endless rooms, a massive rota and constant chaos.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team helping to provide a safe, calm and stable home throughout the night.

THE PACKAGE

  • Average 35 hours per week
  • Waking night shifts

You’ll also receive ongoing training, support and opportunities to progress within children’s residential care.

ABOUT THE HOME

Our new Spalding service will be a small two-bed children’s residential home supporting young people with EBD, SEMH, trauma and complex needs.

Our approach is therapeutic, trauma-informed and relationship-based.

We focus on:

  • Consistency and clear boundaries
  • Building trusting relationships
  • Helping young people feel safe, secure and supported

The home will support a maximum of two young people, allowing staff to provide genuinely individualised care.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the home safe, settled and well supported overnight.

Your role will include:

  • Remaining awake and available throughout the night
  • Supporting young people who wake or need reassurance
  • Responding calmly to any emotional or behavioural difficulties
  • Promoting a safe and settled nighttime environment
  • Completing regular checks in line with care plans and risk assessments
  • Maintaining accurate records and handovers
  • Supporting safeguarding within the home
  • Preparing the home for the morning
  • Working closely with the day staff and management team
  • Helping ensure the home remains safe, clean and organised overnight

You’ll need to be someone who can stay calm, think clearly and respond professionally if the unexpected happens.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for people who are reliable, resilient and genuinely care about young people.

You’ll need to be:

  • Calm and confident
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable working through the night
  • Able to remain alert and responsive
  • Caring and compassionate
  • Confident managing challenging situations
  • Able to work independently while remaining part of a wider team
  • Committed to safeguarding young people
  • A full UK driving licence holder

Previous experience in children’s residential care is desirable, particularly experience with young people with EBD, SEMH, trauma or complex needs.

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare would be advantageous, although training and development can be provided for the right person.

WHY JOIN US?

Because this is your chance to join a brand-new, small children’s home from the beginning and become part of a team that is genuinely building something properly.

  • £29,160 salary
  • £2,000 joining bonus
  • Average 35-hour working week
  • Waking night shifts
  • Brand-new children’s home
  • Maximum of only two young people
  • Small, close-knit staff team
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Opportunities for progression
  • Supportive management team

NIGHTS WITHOUT THE NONSENSE.

If you prefer working nights and want a role where you can provide calm, consistent support in a small children’s home, this could be a great fit.

We’re looking for people who are dependable, switched‑on and passionate about helping young people feel safe.
